Who do I think I am?

Some of you may know about my other industry love: It’s cigars. This incredible journey has allowed me to travel all over our country, the world, and to many different cigar factories meeting many different types of people. The soil, respect for the tobacco seeds andthe plants themselves, all culminate in an incredible leaf that is rolled with nuances and similarities to--you guessed it--the coffee bean.
I started noticing the relationship between coffee and stogies early on but was unsure how to go about furthering the connection, but could my years in trying to become an expert pay off in the coffee industry? Perhaps so.
Coffee and stogies were symbiotic as I understood, but I was fine with high quality cigars and cheap coffee. Besides drinking coffee every morning, I took it for granted. Some say that constant exposure to something either causes you to become immune to it or reinforces some type of subconscious admiration: for me it was the latter. You see with cigars, it's a very personal thing. You cut them a certain way, light them ritualistically, and you store your investment with the utmost care. I know people who don't have a lot to spend on cigars but are adamant about having a small humidor that will ensure that when the said cigar is smoked, it will be perfect. I never imagined how much went into the entire ritual of smoking a cigar and am comfortable seeing that translate into the coffee industry. I've learned so much.
Now that I've been in the cigar industry for over eight years, I've figured out how to go about pushing my love for coffee roasts to the next level. It took a long time for me to develop a palate that could identify and differentiate the complexity of a cigar. I smoked cigar after cigar, figuring out just what the notes were, through trial and error. I soon was able to intrinsically began to understand the differences in leaves, and the subtleties that made each flavor unique.  This is why I'm proud to offer selected roasts that echo what I expect in each hand-rolled stogie I smoke. I look for freshness and intense flavors that jump out at the palate. I want to be wowed with each sip. Coffee is an obsession, a passion, and a daily ritual that many of us hold sacred.
I'm not going to brag about all the places I've traveled to, because many have traveled to more, but I will not hold back on how much pleasure I've seen on people's faces as they've taken that first sip. Seeing that in country after country, city after city is pretty special. No matter the language or culture, the happiness is evident. That is something ingrained in my brain. You can picture how your face looks even now after sipping a damn fine cup of Joe. Worldwide there is a genuine universality in this simple joy of a person having a quality coffee. Give yourself that moment each day, when you take your initial drink of this magic concoction of perfected roasting, hot water, and your mug that holds the power! You owe it to your hard work.
Just like cigars, I sampled a multitude of coffee roasts from all over the world. My hard-earned expertise in the cigar industry seemed to naturally take over, and I took my time. As a matter of fact, it’s been years of sampling. Offering something with your stamp of approval is risky, but I am more than confident that the incredible small batch quality and freshness will make an immediate impact to your taste buds. The names may be funny, but I didn’t want to offer just another brand, I wanted to offer an experience that you will enjoy and share.
Store your beans right to ensure quality persists, grind them to your liking, and brew them using whatever method blows your hair back: just make sure to treat yourself to this simple place of happiness each morning. So, who do I think I am? A coffee lover who wants to share phenomenal coffee with my friends.

Best wishes,
Delicia
